HERNDON, Va., 25 January 2005. Trusted Computer Solutions, Inc. (TCS) today announced it has signed a subcontracting deal with Northrop Grumman Defense Mission Systems worth $4.5 million.
According to the December 8, 2004 contract, TCS will be the primary resource supplier of the Trusted Workstation technology that will be deployed in the Department of Defense Intelligence Information System (DoDIIS) Trusted Workstation (DTW). Northrop Grumman will remain the prime contractor.
As part of Northrop Grumman's contract with the Air Force Research Laboratory, TCS will provide support to the DTW Program Management Office located in Rome, N.Y. In this role, TCS will assist the DTW Program Management Office and site personnel, providing technical expertise during DTW site surveys, installation, integration, training, accreditation as well as post- installation and infrastructure support at various government sites.
The DTW system -- running on TCS SecureOffice Trusted Workstation -- was designed to enable intelligence analysts to view and share data across multiple classified networks from a single desktop. The system offers enhanced interoperability among government agencies, improving the effectiveness and security of the intelligence gathering and analysis function. SecureOffice Trusted Workstation has been in operation and accredited since 1996.
"This strategic agreement with Northrop Grumman will enable defense intelligence analysts to view and share information across multiple classified networks simultaneously," said Edward Hammersla, chief operating officer at TCS. "Following the DoDIIS CIO mandate to install DTW on 40,000-plus desktops within the next three years, it will not only help protect our nation's most vulnerable assets by enabling a single desktop to access multiple networks, but also maximize government productivity, efficiency and affordability."
