Multilayer varistor that responds to 8-kilovolt ESD strikes in less than one nanosecond introduced by AVX
FOUNTAIN INN, S.C., 21 Oct. 2011. AVX Corp. in Fountain Inn, S.C., is introducing the AntennaGuard MLV ultra-low capacitance 0603 device that responds to electro-static discharge strikes in less time than one nanosecond for automotive applications, including RF circuits, sensors, GPS antennas, and high-speed signal transmission lines. The AEC Q200-qualified Automotive AntennaGuard MLV devices deliver low insertion loss, low leakage current, and is more reliable than diode options, AVX officials say. "The AntennaGuard also minimizes the parasitic capacitance and signal distortion, making the most of the signal strength and speed," says Jeremiah Woods, global marketing manager for circuit protection at AVX.
