ENGLEWOOD, Colo., 20 September 2006. The Marine Corps Intelligence Activity (MCIA) has selected EarthWhere, from Sanz, to incorporate its large-scale data-management capabilities into its service production facilities at Quantico, Va.
MCIA, a center for expeditionary intelligence, provides the Marine operating forces with intelligence in support of operational and pre-deployment planning, training, and exercises.
MCIA is integrated into the Defense Intelligence Analysis Program (DIAP). Through DIAP, MCIA can be tasked to provide expeditionary warfare intelligence to support any national, theater, or operational command in the U.S. armed forces.
MCIA supports the Geographically Linked Information Dissemination Environment (GLIDE) to disseminate intelligence imagery products to operating forces and the larger intelligence community.
"The use of EarthWhere in conjunction with GLIDE will provide MCIA with a way to quickly locate, provision and disseminate vital imagery intelligence products to decision-makers and planners," says Mark Hardy, vice president and general manager of the Sanz Geospatial Solutions Group.
