WYCKOFF, N.J., 22 Feb. 2010. Sherborne Sensors, a designer and manufacturer of inclinometers, accelerometers, force transducers, load cells, rotary encoders, instrumentation, and accessories for military and aerospace customers, has introduced the U2000 series. The new product family contains compact, miniature, universal load cells, designed for precision tension and compression force measurements in space-constrained environments.
Offered in ranges from 1kN to 50kN, the miniature U2000 series load cells provide precision measurement capabilities in tension and compression mode, with a 3mV/V full-scale output. Their robust, shear web design incorporates multiple strain gages, strategically placed to counteract and minimize errors associated with unwanted side or axial forces, according to a company representative.
A corrosion-resistant stainless steel housing and environmental sealing to IP54 helps ensure reliable performance in harsh environments, over a wide temperature range of -20 to +80°C. The low-deflection and high-frequency response characteristics of the U2000 series are beneficial for both materials testing and high-speed load measurement applications, and particularly, where peak loads are being monitored, reveals an official.
Additional available options for the U2000 series range include spherical load buttons, mounting bases, isolated double bridge, and fatigue-rated versions.
