Hermetic ceramic column grid array (CCGA) radiation-hardened SDRAM for space applications introduced by DDC
BOHEMIA, N.Y. – Data Device Corp. (DDC) in Bohemia, N.Y., is introducing the DDR2 (97D2H) ceramic column grid array (CCGA) radiation-hardened synchronous dynamic random-access memory (SDRAM) for space applications.
The DDR2 (97D2H) offers as much as 8 gigabits of SDRAM in a compact CCGA package, providing a reliable and flexible memory for long dependable use and ease of design.
The hermetic ceramic packaging provides total ionizing dose radiation tolerance for space of more than 100 kilorads and no-latch-up single-event effects, while the universal package accommodates several density and data width options to enable simplified board design, system integration, and error correction.
The device uses 400 MHz SDRAM to increase memory throughput and make the most of application efficiency; full die lot traceability and die lot total ionizing dose testing; and five screening flows from engineering to flight class.
The SDRAM measures 1.1 by 0.717 by 0.325 inches; and offers wide data bus options (x8, x16, x32, x48, x64, x80), for simple connectivity to radiation-hardened field-programmable gate arrays (FPGAs), application-specific integrated circuits (ASICs) and processors, with support for error-correction schemes.
