Acromag and Concurrent Technologies collaborate on 6U VPX embedded computing with variable I/O combinations
WIXOM, Mich. –WIXOM, Mich. Two embedded computing companies are teaming on a project to deliver a one-slot stand-alone I/O controller for 6U VPX deployments.
The base product from Concurrent Technologies in Woburn, Mass., and Acromag in Wixom, Mich., consists of a Concurrent Technologies processor XMC module fitted on an Acromag VPX452x carrier with four sites for AcroPack modules.
The combination enables systems designers to use a wide variety of I/O combinations within one slot. Air- and conduction-cooled variants are available to meet environmental requirements for military, aerospace, oil and gas, industrial applications.
Depending on computing requirements, the XP B5x/msd XMC processor module supports either a 2-core Intel Core i3-6102E processor or 4-core Intel Xeon processor E3-1505L v5 and is available with as much as 16 gigabytes of soldered-down DDR4 memory.
AcroPack modules are available for field-programmable gate array (FPGA), analog I/O, digital I/O, Ethernet, timers, serial communications and MIL-STD-1553 I/O. These embedded computing modules are interchangeable making the solution suitable for a variety of different applications.
