Rugged COM Express modules for space-limited embedded computing in surveillance introduced by Kontron

COMe-m4AL10 (E2) comes with 5th-generation Intel Atom, Pentium, or Celeron processors, and operates in temperatures from -40 to 85 degrees Celsius.

AUGSBURG, Germany – Kontron in Augsburg, Germany, is introducing the COM Express COMe-m4AL10 (E2) module for space-limited rugged embedded computing applications like surveillance and security, autonomous vehicles, and medical imaging.

The COMe-m4AL10 (E2) is available with either Intel Atom, Intel Pentium, or Intel Celeron processors of the latest 5th generation, and operates in the industrial temperature range of -40 to 85 degrees Celsius.

The COMe-m4AL10 (E2) will be available in five different processor versions, as DualCore or QuadCore processors. It supports as much as 16 gigabytes LPDDR4 memory down and two independent displays: 1x DP++ (DP/HDMI/DVI) 4096x2160@60Hz and 1x Single Channel LVDS with DPtoLVDS (eDP on request) 3840x2160@30Hz.

The COM Express module comes with storage options for two SATA II 300-megabits-per-second interfaces and as much as 128 gigabytes of MLC memory on request.

In addition to having two serial ports, it provides two USB 3.0 interfaces, as many as eight USB 2.0 interfaces, Gigabit Ethernet, as well as four PCI-Express Gen2 lanes.

The rugged COMe-m4AL10 (E2) optionally supports the Kontron APPROTECT security solution based on Wibu-Systems CodeMeter. Kontron APPROTECT Licensing also enables new business models such as 'pay-per-use' and time-based trial versions.
