Radiation-hardened Arm Cortex-based microcontrollers for space and military applications introduced by Vorago
AUSTIN, Texas – Vorago Technologies Inc. in Austin, Texas, is expanding the company's integrated radiation-hardened Arm Cortex-based microcontroller family line into ball grid array packages for military and commercial space applications.
BGA packaging for Vorago's radiation-hardened Cortex promises an increase of functionality options spanning size and scope while incorporating the company's patented HARDSIL technology, company officials say.
The Vorago family of BGA processors for space applications compresses the functionality of as many as eight integrated circuits into one 12-by-12-millimeter BGA package.
The VA416XX and VA108X0 family of radiation-hardened BGA microcontroller products offer high performance Arm Cortex processing power with programming tools; optional nonvolatile memory; pin-to-pin compatibility; latch-up immunity and total ionizing dose radiation of as much as 300 kilorads; communication interfaces such as I2C, UART, CAN, SPI, Ethernet, and Spacewire; and design development kit.
