XMC embedded computing mezzanine card for real-time mission-critical applications introduced by Aitech
CHATSWORTH, Calif. – Aitech Defense Systems Inc. in Chatsworth, Calif., is introducing the M599 multiple-output graphics embedded computing switched mezzanine card (XMC) for mission-critical applications that real-time operating systems (RTOS).
The M599 embedded computing mezzanine card provides double the performance of its predecessor, with the same low power consumption, company officials.
The rugged M599 uses the next-generation AMD E9171 1.2 TFLOPS graphics processing unit (GPU) to drive multi-displays, enable 3D and 4K content, as well as handle high general-purpose graphics processing unit (GPGPU) compute needs.
The XMC can be certified to DAL-A safety-critical avionics guidelines, and meets VITA 47 requirements for shock and vibration. Aitech's rugged XMC is safety-certifiable graphics card, handling as many as five simultaneous displays, and offering an optimal balance of performance and power efficiency.
The mezzanine card is for applications that include heads-up displays, moving maps, navigation, and unmanned vehicles for land, air, and sea.
Available in conduction- and air-cooled versions, the M599 operates as a peripheral XMC board with a compatible x86 or NXP host single-board computer, which connects to the XMC via a high speed PCI Express Gen3 link of as many as eight lanes.
The rugged graphics card supports application programming interfaces (APIs) like Vulkan, OpenCL, OpenGL, and DirectX as well as interfaces with Windows and Linux operating systems and real-time operating systems like VxWorks and INTEGRITY.
