Thales Computers in Toulon, France, is introducing the cPENTXM2 ruggedized 6U CompactPCI blade server computer, which uses the 1.67 GHz dual-core Intel Xeon, combined with the Intel E7520 server class memory controller hub. The scalable cPENTXM2 has as much as 4 gigabytes of DDR2-400 SDRAM with dual Gigabit Ethernet ports on the backplane compliant with PICMG 2.16/VITA 31 and support PICMG 2.9/VITA 38 standard intelligent platform management interface. The cPENTXM2 also has two additional Gigabit Ethernet ports, making a total of four independent ports and two USB 2.0 ports on the front panel. A SATA port, two USB 2.0 ports and a PCI Express port are available on the back panel connector as PICMG 2.16 dual Gigabit Ethernet interfaces. The cPENTXM2 runs Red Hat Linux and is available as a stand-alone board component or pre-integrated in large systems (PowerMP6) with full data transport and management software based on standards such as MPI and HTTP.
