Eonic Systems unveils rad-hard SHARC DSP board

Engineers at Eonic Systems in Herndon, Va., are announcing their Mosaic020 commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) radiation-tolerant multiple-chip digital signal processor board for space applications. Developed by Dornier Satellite Systems and Temic/MHS, the Mosaic020 board is based on the Analog Devices 21020 digital signal processor with fault-tolerant IEEE-1355 communication links in a space-qualified package. Eonic engineers adapted a version of their Virtuoso/VSP real-time operating system for the new board to help users with multiprocessor programming support.
