OAKLAND, N.J., 29 June 2005. Engineers from DRS Data & Imaging Systems Inc. in Oakland, N.J., are upgrading 67 recorders and 18 data replay recorders on the U.S. Navy P-3 Orion maritime patrol aircraft to a hard drive configuration.
DRS is doing the work under terms of a $6.8 million contract modification from the U.S. Naval Air Systems Command at Patuxent River Naval Air Station, Md. The contract includes the procurement of 80 hard drive media.
Work will be in Oakland, N.J., and will be finished in June 2007. The contract also includes corresponding material kits and test data. The contract number is N00019-00-C-0161.
