1500-Watt power supplies for distributed power, networking, and storage introduced by Murata
MANSFIELD, Mass., 11 Aug. 2016. Murata Power Solutions in Mansfield, Mass. is introducing the D1U54P-W-1500-12 series of 1500-Watt power supplies for distributed power architecture applications, networking equipment, and server and storage systems.
Packaged in an industry-standard 1U format, the power electronics device measures 2.15 by 1.57 by 12.65 inches -- the same as the 1200-Watt and 1300-Watt power supplies in this family.
Delivering a power density of more than 35 Watts per cubic inch, this compact power supply exceeds the 80 PLUS Platinum efficiency requirements.
The power supply series features a 12-volt DC main output, and also provides optional standby outputs of 12, 5, or 3.3 volts DC output.
These hot-pluggable units are capable of N+1 redundancy and feature active current sharing (ORING FET) permitting connection of as many as eight in parallel.

Control and monitoring features include an I2C compatible PMBus interface and front panel LED status indicators. Overvoltage, overcurrent, and over temperature protection is included across the range.
Forced-air cooling comes from a low-noise variable-speed fan; the direction of air flow, front to back or back to front, can be specified at the time of order.
The D1U54P-W-1500-12-HxxTC is an AC input unit accommodating the universal input range from 90 to 264 volts AC. A DC input model, D1U54-D-1500-12-HxxC, also is available in the same size.
