6U VME single-board computer for military embedded computing introduced by Curtiss-Wright
ASHBURN, Va., 8 April 2016. The Curtiss-Wright Corp. Defense Solutions division in Ashburn, Va., is introducing the SVME/DMV-196 Power Architecture-based 6U VME single-board computer for rugged defense and aerospace embedded computing applications.
The rugged computer board offers FPGA-based Helix PCI Express to VME64x Interface, and has on-card integrated MIL-STD-1553B interfaces. For applications that do not require the MIL-STD-1553B option, the computer board will also be available with the interfaces removed.
Each of the SVME/DMV-196's T2080 processor cores has an AltiVec engine that runs at the core frequency. The computer board is for upgrading applications based on AltiVec algorithms. It enables customers to use their proven existing algorithms while providing an increase in performance and a reduction in power.
The SVME/DMV-196's T2080 processor has as much as 16 gigabytes of DDR3 memory and I/O that includes three Gigabit Ethernet ports, as many as six serial channels, discrete and differential digital I/O, SATA, 1553B, Universal Serial Bus (USB) 2.0 ports, and dual PMC/XMC sites.
