Desktop expansion enclosures linking to laptops by PCI Express introduced by One Stop Systems
ESCONDIDO, Calif., 6 Jan. 2013. One Stop Systems Inc. in Escondido, Calif., is introducing the CUBE desktop expansion enclosures that attach to a laptop computer or workstation through Thunderbolt or PCI Express.
By adding a video editing card and a Flash high-speed memory card to The CUBE users can their laptop computers into video editing machines. The light-weight enclosure mobile, and the quiet cooling fans make it suitable for noise-sensitive environments.
The CUBE can link embedded computing elements to MAC and PC systems with comparable efficiency, One Stop Systems officials say.
The CUBE family includes The µCUBE, µCUBE2, and µCUBE3 supporting PCI Express short cards and The CUBE, CUBE2, and CUBE3 supporting full-length PCI Express cards.
The most compact of the family, the µCUBE, supports one PCI Express short card, the µCUBE2 supports as many as three short cards and the µCUBE3 supports as many as five short cards.
The CUBE supports two single-wide or one double-wide card, The CUBE2 supports as many as five cards and The CUBE3 supports as many as eight single-wide cards or four double-wide cards.
