VPX single-board computers for avionics, land, and marine applications introduced by PCI Systems
SUNNYVALE, Calif., 4 Jan. 2013. PCI-Systems Inc. in Sunnyvale, Calif., is introducing 3U and 6U VPX single-board computers based on the Intel Core i7 "Ivy Bridge" microprocessor for land-based, marine, and avionics applications.
The 3U VPX I7 embedded computing boards feature 10 Gigabit Ethernet; USB 3.0, SATA3 6 gigabit-per-second, RS-232/RS-422/RS-485; Wind River VxWorks, Linux and Microsoft-Windows; Intel Corei7 with QM77; 3U and 6U VPX (VITA 46) module; as much as 16 gigabytes of DDR3-1066 ECC SDRAM in two channels; 8 megabytes NOR boot flash; 256 gigabytes SATA drive onboard; ruggedized VITA 48 (REDI) compatible; and is conduction cooled.
The VPX I7 CPU board connects to the system backplane with as many as 16 PCI Express interconnects. The VPX I7 features a MILbus chip and has a 256 gigabytes SSD SATA 3 onboard. 4 USB3, 10 USB2, 2 SATA 6 gigabit-per-second and 4 SATA 3 gigabit-per-second connections.
Available microprocessors include the Intel Core i7-3615QE, 4x 2.3 GHz; Intel Core i7-3612QE, 4x 2.1 GHz; Intel Core i7-3555LE, 2x 2.5 GHz; Intel Core i7-3517UE, 2x 2.5 GHz; Intel Core i5-3610ME, 2x 2.7 GHz; Intel Core i3-3120ME, 2x 2.4 GHz; and Intel Core i3-3217UE, 2x 1.6 GHz.
