TUALATIN, Ore., 10 April 2013. VersaLogic Corp. in Tualatin, Ore., is introducing the VL-COMm-26 rugged small-form-factorcomputer on module (COM) for mission-critical military, aerospace, and medical applications.

The embedded computing module works in temperatures from -40 to 85 degrees Celsius, and meets MIL-STD-202G for shock and vibration. The industry-standard COM Express mini form factor measures 55 by 84 millimeters, or about the size of a credit card.

The VL-COMm-26 is a integrated embedded computer that combines the Intel Atom E6x0T low power processor with an optional TPM security chip and a Type 10 COM interface. The card has as much as 2 gigabytes of soldered-on RAM, and fanless cooling.

The input voltage ranges from 8 to 17 volts, and is compatible with an automotive 12-volt power system. The VL-COMm-26 is available manufactured to IPC-A-610 Class 2 standards.

For enhanced security, the VL-COMm-26 supports Execute Disable Bit functionality to reduce exposure to viruses and malicious code attacks. An optional on-board Trusted Platform Module (TPM) chip is available for applications that require enhanced hardware-level security functions. The VL-COMm-26 is RoHS compliant.
