MIDDLETON, Wis., 11 Aug. 2011. Extreme Engineering Solutions Inc. (X-ES) in Middleton, Wis., is introducing the XAct3000 rugged solid state storage system. The natural convection-cooled sub-half-AIR rugged data storage system supports between 1 and 3.5 terabytes of solid state storage. By configuring the JBODs or RAID units and connecting it to an Ethernet network, users can start storing and retrieving files, X-ES officials say.The XAct3000 supports ATA secure erase and meets the erase requirements of DOD NISPOM 5220.22 and NSA/CSS 9-12 specifications. The rugged Network Attached Storage (NAS) system supports NFS, SMB/CIFS, FTP, SFTP, and HTTP protocols. Data encryption is also available for the system. The XAct3000 has include as much as 3.5 terabytes of solid state storage; storage declassification and ATA secure erase; JBOD, RAID 0, RAID 1, RAID 5, and RAID 6 configurations optional 256-bit AES encryption; NFS, SMB/CIFS, FTP, SFTP, and HTTP protocols; two 10/100/1000 BASE-T Ethernet ports; storage based on SLC NAND flash technology; sub-quarter-AIR natural convection-cooled or conduction-cooled chassis; measures 4.88 by 5.65 by 10.30 inches; weighs less than 12 pounds; environmentally sealed; and MIL-STD-461 E/F EMI filtering.
