Kontron to introduce COM Express embedded computing module based on 2nd Generation Intel Core processor

ECHING, Germany, 7 Jan. 2011. Kontron in Eching, Germany, will support the new 2nd Generation Intel Core processor family in its embedded computing products, with its first offering, the Kontron COM Express basic ETXexpress-SC Computer-on-Module, due out by the end of March. The second-generation Intel Core processor combines CPU, processor graphics, memory controller (some with ECC support), and PCI Express controller on one die. Â

The second-generation Intel Core processor combines CPU, processor graphics, memory controller (some with ECC support), and PCI Express controller on one die.
Following the Kontron COM Express basic ETXexpress-SC computer-on-module, Kontron will introduce a mini-ITX, Flex-ATX embedded motherboard and 6U CompactPCI blade, company officials say. Other platforms planned for 2011 include 3U CompactPCI, 3U VPX, AdvancedMC, PCI Express/104, ATX embedded motherboards, and several industrial PCs.
