FREMONT, Calif., 15 May 2011. Elma Electronic Inc. in Fremont, Calif., is introducing a modular subrack that shields against electromagnetic interference for Eurocard-based embedded computing systems that use card form factors such as VME, OpenVPX, and CompactPCI. The Elma Type 11 subrack has advanced electromagnetic conductivity (EMC) shielding that does not use separate gaskets, but which is built into the chassis extrusions and construction. The modular design of the subrack can accommodate a broad range of size and configuration options.

The modular design of the subrack can accommodate a broad range of size and configuration options. Each subrack can be put together in five minutes, Elma officials say.The EMC subracks are built with pre-galvanized sheet metal that are vibration-proof. The design can be used in systems that must meet IEC 60297 or IEEE 1101.10 standards. The top and bottom covers accommodate air flow and easy access.
