CONCORD, N.H., 24 May 2011. BittWare in Concord, N.H., is introducing the VPX Rapid Development Platform (VRDP) tool for designing and testing VPXembedded computing systems. The design and development tool combines OpenVPX with as many as five Altera Stratix Family field-programmable gate arrays (FPGAs).The BittWare VRDP provides as many as five OpenVPX slots for system configurations. Adding BittWare's ATLANTiS FrameWork enables users to design and debug. The tool suite includes a VITA 46/65-compliant 3U VPX backplane, twisted ring routing topology, and two fat pipes per slot. The VRDP includes a 19-inch, 4U-high rackmount enclosure with a 350-Watt ATX power supply, two 12-volt DC fans, bottom-to-top airflow, and EMI shielding. BittWare FPGA 3U OpenVPX boards are available for development. Options include the S4-3U-VPX (S43X) or GT-3U-VPX (GT3X).
The S43X has an Altera Stratix IV GX FPGA, and the GT3X has the Stratix II GX FPGA and four Analog Devices ADSP-TS201 TigerSHARC digital signal processing (DSP) chips. The OpenVPX boards support ATLANTiS FrameWork to control I/O, routing, and processing.
Software support includes device drivers, host interface libraries, diagnostic utilities, as well as configuration and debug tools. For more information contact BittWare online at www.bittware.com.
