LONGMONT, Colo., 5 Aug. 2008.Conduant Corp. in Longmont, Colo., is introducing the StreamStor Amazon Express storage controller with flexible data PCI interface system and sustained recording and playback faster than 600 megabytes per second.
The full-size PCI Express card can be installed in a PC with open PCI Express slots, and can support as many as 16 SerialATA disk drives for a capacity of 16 terabytes. With its onboard PowerPC processor, real-time operating system and StreamStor data engine, it operates independently of the host PC.
The StreamStor Amazon Express features more than seven hours of recording/playback capacity at 600 megabytes per second with the appropriate disk drives, and offers storage capacities from 250 megabytes to 16 terabytes.
