LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga., 6 March 2012.Rugged electronics enclosure manufacturer Optima Electronic Packaging Systems (Optima EPS) in Lawrenceville, Ga., is expanding into the broadcast and data center cabinet markets with the Optima EPS acquisition of the APWMayville and Stantron business lines of Mayville Products Corp. in Mayville, Wis., the companies announced Monday. Optima EPS is owned by the Elma Group Inc. in Fremont, Calif.
The Stantron brand name, which includes Pioneer Cabinets, provides specialized enclosures for audio and video equipment, cables, and servers for television, radio, and other broadcast production. APWMayville, meanwhile, provides data center racks and enclosures including the 19-inch NexServ cabinets.
Mayville Products, an enclosure solutions and contract manufacturing business, sold the two brands as well as existing products, designs, and equipment, company officials say. Mayville retains its PFT-Datacom and EMI Security brand names. Optima EPS specializes in custom rugged enclosures for military applications harsh environments such as airborne, space, battlefield, and underwater uses.
