Microsemi RF Integrated Solutions meets AS9100 Rev C for aerospace and defense applications

FOLSOM, Calif., 8 Jan. 2012. Microsemi Corp. (Nasdaq:MSCC) in Aliso Viejo, Calif., has received AS9100:2009 (Rev C) quality system certification for aviation, space and defense applications for the company's RF Integrated Solutions (RFIS) facility in Folsom, Calif. AS9100 Rev C emphasizes program and risk management, intensive supply chain management controls, and facility-wide continuous improvement activities that include on-time delivery and product conformity measurement processes, Microsemi officials say.

(Nasdaq:MSCC) in Aliso Viejo, Calif., has received AS9100:2009 (Rev C)quality certification for aviation, space and defense applications for the company's RF Integrated Solutions (RFIS) facility in Folsom, Calif. AS9100 Rev C emphasizes program and risk management, intensive supply chain management controls, and facility-wide continuous improvement activities that include on-time delivery and product conformity measurement processes of the company's RF and microwave products, Microsemi officials say.
AS9100 also requires a facility first to comply with IS0 9001:2008 quality management standards for systems and processes. AS9100:2009 (Rev C) was developed by the International Aerospace Quality Group (IAQG) to satisfy internal, government and regulatory requirements.
The goal of the IAQG is to improve product quality and on-time delivery of products. This is accomplished through the cooperative implementation of initiatives intended to make significant improvements in quality and reductions in cost throughout the value stream.
