Six-slot MicroTCA chassis with built-in switches for Gigabit Ethernet, RapidIO, and PCI Express introduced by Mercury
CHELMSFORD, Mass., 28 May 2010. Mercury Computer Systems Inc. in Chelmsford, Mass., is introducing the Ensemble 2000 six-slot MicroTCAembedded computing chassis with in switches built into the backplane to support Gigabit Ethernet (base interface) and a choice of communications fabrics including RapidIO, 10 Gigabit Ethernet, and PCI Express.
The backplane also includes a built-in system manager that enables all slots to be configured with AMCs, which dispenses with the need for a separate MCH module.
The chassis also supports mechanical stacking in a 19-inch rack, and the base interface, fabric interface, and clock can all be daisy-chained across several chassis. Support includes Mercury’s family of processor AMCs, including Xilinx FPGAs, TI DSPs, PowerQUICC, Power Architecture MPC 8641D, and Intel Penryn processors.
