NASHUA, N.H., 28 Nov. 2007. Experts from three major defense electronics companies will discuss the most recent Intel Architecture–based joint solutions from Curtiss-Wright Controls Embedded Computing, Intel and Wind River Systems during a Webcast presented by Military & Aerospace Electronics at 3 p.m. eastern time today.

Register for the Webcast here to learn how Curtiss-Wright has integrated the Intel Core Duo family into a new line of single-board computers that significantly reduces size, weight, and power compared to the previous generation of products. The Webcast is entitled Embedded Computing Enables C4ISR.

Webcast attendees also will learn how Wind River has collaborated with Curtiss-Wright to reduce development and deployment risk. Presenters will be Jason Smith, Curtiss-Wright product marketing manager; Chip Downing, senior industry marketing manager for the Wind River Aerospace & Defense sector; and Tony Franklin, MAG segment manager of ECG at Intel.

Aerospace & Defense (A&D) contractors are under increasing pressure from both the U.S. Department of Defense and civilian end customers to develop and deploy computing and communications solutions combining leading-edge technologies and full device life cycle support at an ever-decreasing cost. To achieve these top-level requirements, A&D contractors must continuously reduce size, weight, and power, while simultaneously mitigating risk during all phases of development and deployment.

Curtiss-Wright Controls Embedded Computing, Intel and Wind River are meeting this challenge by collaborating on joint solutions that incorporate Intel's dual core processing capabilities, Curtiss-Wright's best-of-breed commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) solutions with Wind River's industry-leading device software solutions.

The Webcast sponsors are Curtiss-Wright Controls Embedded Computing; Intel; and Wind River Systems.

Attendees will have an opportunity to ask questions of the presenters during the Webcast. Their presentations will be archived for one year for those who wish to view the Webcast online or as an MP3 podcast.
