Army to brief industry, on enabling technologies and prototypes for next-generation combat vehicle
WARREN, Mich. – U.S. Army researchers are reaching out to the armored combat vehicle industry to gather companies interested in working on enabling technologies and technology prototypes of the next-generation combat vehicle.
Officials of the Army Contracting Command in Warren, Mich., issued a market research notice (W56HZV169DATC) on Monday to identify companies and organizations interested in the Next-Generation Combat Vehicle (NGCV) Detroit Arsenal Automotive (DA2) Prototype Project effort.
The Next-Generation Combat Vehicle is still in the conceptual stage, but could yield technologies and design approaches that will help build the eventual replacements to the M1 Abrams main battle tank and the M2 Bradley Fighting Vehicle.
The Army Contracting Command is issuing this market research on behalf of the Army Tank Automotive Research, Development, and Engineering Center (TARDEC) in Warren, Mich.
TARDEC researchers are trying to put together an industry team to help design and test the absolute latest vehicle technologies from industry and government into a set of ground combat vehicle prototypes. The team would integrate best-of- breed combat vehicle technologies with components and subsystems already developed by TARDEC.
