SOSA-aligned embedded computing backplane for electronic warfare (EW) and reconnaissance introduced by Elma
FREMONT, Calif. – Elma Electronic Inc. in Fremont, Calif., is introducing a 7-slot 3U OpenVPX SOSA-aligned embedded computing backplane for military electronic warfare (EW), communications, surveillance, and reconnaissance applications.
The backplane also supports the U.S. military's Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA) mandate, and offers six VITA 65 slots and one VITA 62 power supply slot, Application functions include mission, weapons, navigation control, surveillance, detection, processes, and environmental monitoring.
CMOSS and RF applications
For CMOSS and RF applications, the embedded computing backplane has three payload slots and PNT support. Control and data plane links offer 25-gigabit-per-second data rates for high-speed signaling on all data paths and support dual-domain Ethernet to 100GBASE-KR4.
The backplane offers VITA 67.3 interconnects, with VITA 66 and VITA 67 connector modules installed in the backplane on request. Support includes a radial slot card for precision timing and synchronization, VITA 48.2 2-level maintenance and VITA 62 power supply isolation fins for high altitude applications are available.
