Hunter Technology makes move into front-end product development with Spinnaker Microwave acquisition

SANTA CLARA, Calif., 11 Sept. 2011. Electronics contract manufacturer Hunter Technology Corp. in Santa Clara, Calif., is acquiring RF and microwave components specialist Spinnaker Microwave, also in Santa Clara, Calif., in an effort to move into engineering and manufacturing, as well as to extend Hunter's reach into the front end of the product development cycle, Hunter officials say.Hunter has agreed to acquire all of Spinnaker's outstanding shares, and the acquisition has the approval of the boards of directors of both companies. Spinnaker will become a wholly owned subsidiary of Hunter Technology when the deal closes.Spinnaker Microwave provides RF and microwave solutions including signal source components and integrated sub-assemblies for defense, scientific, and test and measurement applications. Hunter Technology, meanwhile, provides electronic manufacturing services such as printed circuit board design and layout, contract manufacturing, test, and systems integration.
