General Dynamics C4 chooses operations and training software from PacStar for command post communications

Military communications systems integrators at General Dynamics C4 Systems in Scottsdale, Ariz., needed software for their company's Dismounted Company Command Post (DCCP) communications system to enable users to train and operate the DCCP quickly and efficiently. They found their solution from the IQ-Core software from Pacific Star Communications Inc. (PacStar) in Portland, Ore.

They found their solution from the IQ-Core software from Pacific Star Communications Inc. (PacStar) in Portland, Ore.

DCCP is an expeditionary communications system for the U.S. Department of Defense. IQ-Core training software automates routine, difficult, or error-prone setup, configuration and management tasks, reduces setup time, and improves system uptime by reducing mis-configuration errors.

General Dynamics C4 Systems will demonstrate the DCCP -- a new company development -- with the IQ-Core software at the at the Association of the United States Army (AUSA) ILW Winter Symposium in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., next week.

IQ-Core software helps reduce the complexity of tasks related to deploying voice, data, video, and application services in the field, PacStar officials say. IQ-Core software has been proven in the field and has been DISA JITC-certified on five different platforms.

IQ-Core software is embedded in PacStar's software-managed deployable communications solutions, including the PacStar 6000 and PacStar 4000-series for delivering IP and TDM connectivity to defense networks including NIPRNet, SIPRNet, JWICS, CENTRIX-ISAF, as well as DOD Defense Switched Network (DSN) voice and data services and VoSIP.
