American Science and Engineering to provide cargo X-ray inspection in Middle East

BILLERICA, Mass., 17 Sept. 2008. X-ray detector manufacturer American Science and Engineering Inc. in Billerica, Mass., will provide X-ray detection systems to an unnamed Middle East government under terms of a $12.5 million service order announced today.

The contract calls for American Science to provide service, maintenance, training, and spare parts for several cargo systems, including the OmniView Gantry inspection system, the Z Portal screening system, and the Z Backscatter Van (ZBV).
