VDC Research Group: Embedded/real-time market to contract this year

NATICK, Mass., 27 June 2009. According to VDC Research, headquartered in Natick, Mass., the 2008 embedded and real-time operating system market demonstrated 9 percent revenue growth over 2007, largely due to demand for software-driven functionality, mounting device safety and security. Yet, 2009 forecasts show the first industry contraction since 2002. Competition will rise under these conditions and vendors must position their products to meet the requirements of a changing market.
