Martek Power earns certification for aerospace power electronics quality

TORRANCE, Calif., 12 Feb. 2009. Martek Power Inc., a custom military power electronics designer in Torrance, Calif., has received certification to the AS9100:2004 Rev B certification from Underwriters Labs for ensuring mil grade electronics quality components for the aerospace electronics industry.

This certification standard takes ISO 9001:2000 and nearly 100 additional requirements specific for electronic component quality in power supplies and power systems.

The AS9100 standard was established by the International Aerospace Quality Group (IAQG) for achieving significant industry improvements in quality and safety, and reductions in cost throughout the value stream, company officials say.
