Elma Recipient of 4 2021 Innovator Awards from Military & Aerospace Electronics
FREMONT, Calif., October 2021 – For the fifth year running, Elma Electronic Inc. has been recognized in the Military & Aerospace Engineering Technology Innovator Awards Program. Garnering three gold awards and a silver this year, Elma continues to develop leading-edge computing products that help to solve industry challenges.
Shan Morgan, president of Elma Electronic Inc., noted, “Consistently achieving these recognitions is truly a testament to the hard work and dedication of not only our engineering team, but everyone here at Elma, as we all strive to meet our customers’ needs through continued technology and product innovations.”Â
The three gold awards included various product innovations across several different channels of Elma’s broad and diverse embedded computing business.  The CompacFrame test & development platforms are designed to accelerate the design and testing of open architecture-based embedded systems and offer an enhanced viewing angle with a 5° upwards tilt.
Just in time for the release of The Open Group Sensor Open System Architecture™ (SOSA) 1.0, the company’s 3U conduction-cooled load card aligned to SOSA tests a system’s cooling capabilities to confirm that the chassis will provide adequate cooling and verifies that a conduction cooled plug-in card (PIC) aligned with SOSA is capable of meeting the power requirements for that system or any OpenVPX system.
The last gold winner is Elma’s NetSys 5310/11 Rugged Cisco ESR-6300 Platforms, the latest in an expanded range of mobile, SWaP-optimized enclosures that deliver critical information and secure IP routing for fast network performance.
In addition to the three gold awards, Elma earned a silver for its MR50 rugged selector switch that offers precision selection with up to 16 selector positions that offer excellent tactile feedback, making it ideal for portable, mobile and space-constrained devices used in harsh environments.
According to the publication, Military & Aerospace Electronics’ annual Technology Innovator Awards competition aims to “recognize companies offering substantial military, aerospace, and avionics design solutions.”
