The HI-8598 is the World’s first and only galvanically isolated line driver, providing 800V isolation between the analog line driver and the logic interface, ensuring isolation between the ARINC 429 data bus and sensitive digital circuitry. Holt also boasts the HI-8460, a galvanically isolated ARINC 429 line receiver, which provides the same 800V isolation between digital and analog receive circuitry an also integrates built-in DO-160G Level 3 lightning protection. These devices are intended for use in safety critical systems, where it is essential to completely isolate any faults on the bus from mission critical electronics, making these good choices for systems that will ultimately require FAA or EASA DO-254 DAL A certification.
Many of Holt’s line drivers, for example HI-8596, run from a single 3.3V supply, feature tri-state outputs, and an internal dc-dc converter providing the analog voltages necessary for ARINC 429 compatibility. The HI-8597 is unique in that it is the only line driver with integrated DO-160G Level 3 lightning protection utilizing no external components.
Holt also offers a full range of quad and octal line receivers, which operate from 3.3V or 5.0V supplies and all integrate DO-160G Level 3 Lightning Protection.
Finally, Holt provides an ARINC 429 repeater, which enables ARINC 429 signals to be reliably received from a transmission source and re-transmitted to another receiver (for example at the end of a long transmission line), ensuring that the original transmitter signal can be relayed efficiently with the same signal integrity as the original source.
