Elma Shows Functional Demos at U.S. Army FACE™ Technical Interchange Meeting (TIM)
FREMONT, Calif., September 2021 – At the upcoming U.S. Army FACE™ Technical Interchange Meeting (TIM) on September 14, Elma Electronic Inc. will participate in three functional demos designed to validate the multi-vendor interoperability environment outlined by the DoD’s Modular Open System Approach (MOSA).
The first demo showcases an electronic warfare (EW) payload development environment aligned to The Open Group Sensor Open System Architecture™ (SOSA) Technical Standard. Utilizing a 3U OpenVPX development frame from Elma Electronic with six payload slots, the platform provide support for CMOSS and embodies a true multi-vendor ecosystem by incorporating Plug-In Cards (PICs) and other hardware from SOSA consortium members Spectranetix and Interface Concept.
The second demo focuses on VITA 46.11 chassis management, also incorporating various PICs from SOSA member companies Concurrent Technologies and Behlman Electronics into a single development platform. This demo demonstrate Tier 2 IPMC system monitoring and management capabilities that allow for hardware and low-level hardware control over elements of a system.
As an integral part of the open standard ecosystem, Elma will also participate in a third demonstration held by partner company, Pentek (now part of Mercury Systems), supplying a backplane aligned to SOSA that is integrated into Pentek’s Model 8256 development system.
