This cable has been specially designed by PIC for airborne 10and 100 Base-T Local Area Network applications as definedby ARINC Specification 664. The twisted-pair construction(two separate pairs) effectively reduces inductive interferencewhile 100% foil and 85% braided shielding serve tofurther protect against EMI.Data transmission aboard aircraft faces more sever environmentaland EMI situation than conventional LAN systemsin commercial buildings. Hence special measures have beentaken to preserve technical performance.Each conductor is surrounded by a foamed fluoropolymerdielectric having a high velocity of propagation which permitssmaller overall diameter and weight while retainingperformance and required operating parameters. Tin-platedcopper conductors and shielding assure uniform conductivitywith excellent solderability. A fluoropolymer jacket protectsthe cable against abrasion and environmental effects whilemaintaining flexibility for ease of installation.
