Infrared filters made from exotic materials not only offer superior spectral performance, but they also offer enhanced characteristics such as non-linear functionality. These materials include binary/ternary crystals and ceramics, most of which can be in-house diamond turned into aspheric optical components. Exotics and more common IR materials, such as Si, Ge, ZnS, and ZnSe are finished with high performance thin film coatings that include anti-reflection (AR), single and multi-band filtering, blocking, metallization, and gradient ND’s, customized for specific applications.
