Curtiss-Wright to Demonstrate Fully Integrated Data Acquisition System for Flight Test at European Test and Telemetry Conference

Nov. 1, 2017

EUROPEAN TEST AND TELEMETRY CONFERENCE (ETTC) 2017, TOULOUSE, France.  (Booth #7-8) – JUNE 13, 2017 – Curtiss-Wright’s Defense Solutions division will demonstrate a fully integrated data acquisition system designed for flight test applications at the European Test and Telemetry Conference. The demonstration, which will be held at Curtiss-Wright’s booth (Booth #7-8) will highlight the interoperability of rugged Flight Test Instrumentation (FTI) components, including data acquisition units (DAU), gateways, transceivers, recorders, cameras, managers, and switches from its recently integrated ACRA (based in Dublin, Ireland) and Teletronics Technology Corporation (based in Newtown, PA) business units.

“Curtiss-Wright’s advanced flight test data acquisition solutions, now leveraging our industry-leading ACRA and Teletronics products working together, provide our customers with proven, cost-effective system-level solutions,” said Lynn Bamford, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Defense Solutions division. “Our customers benefit from having a single point of contact and support for their entire FTI system, which greatly reduces their program risk, saves time and protects their budget, and helps to maximize the time that their test platform stays in the air.”

The demonstration will feature Teletronics Technology Corporation’s (TTC) ADSR-4003 Ethernet instrumentation recorder and ACRA’s soon-to-be-released miniature Axon™ Data Acquisition Unit (DAU) for Flight Test applications (Early Evaluation Units of Axon are now shipping). Axon enables off-the-shelf data acquisition modules to be placed in ultra-miniature "Axonite" housings and located remotely, up to 20 meters from the DAU chassis. Locating data acquisition closer to the sensors can significantly decrease the installation time and cost of the instrumentation while simultaneously reducing wiring weight. The demo system is also based on the popular Acra KAM-500 DAU and integrates the NET/SWI/101 Gigabit Ethernet Switch and TTC’s High Definition (HD) video camera.
