United Electronic Industries releases a new video for their AFDX 664 Ready Board

March 4, 2015

United Electronics Industries (UEI) released a new video for their DNx-AFDX-664 board, a dual-channel AFDX(r)/ARINC-664 avionics communications interface for UEI's popular Cube and RACKtangle I/O chassis. The board may be configured for independent channel(s) or a dual redundant channel. The network implementation supports 10/100/1000 BASE-T speeds. The channels may operate as an emulator (receiver, transmitter) or network/bus monitor.

The input provides configurable error/integrity checking as well as redundant packet elimination (redundancy management), though this feature may be disabled if the application requires. Input data is filtered based on virtual link (VL) and AFDX Port address after error detection.

The Monitor mode allows the user to selectively capture interesting network traffic. The Monitor mode will also gather a variety of statistics from the bus/network.

The output / transmit channels automatically traffic shape using deterministic scheduling by Bandwidth Allocation Gaps (BAG) with 0.5, 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64 or 128 millisecond timing between a virtual-link's packets. Transmission may be performed using an automatic periodic scheduler, or in a one-shot asynchronous transmission. Both Unicast and multicast VL addressing is supported for AFDX Sampling / Queueing / SAP data.
