Many of Hamamatsu's new cameras use a USB3.0 interface for connecting the camera to a computer. But as a scientific setups become more and more complicated it becomes apparent that standard USB cables are not long enough to cover the distance between the camera and the PC. This is where USB3.0 extension come into play. Several solutions of such U?SB3.0 extenders are available on the market today. They are mainly based on fiber optic cables and differ in the length available. The ones recommended have been test with an ORCA-Flash4.0 V2 camera and can be recommended to be used with Hamamatsu USB3.0 cameras like ORCA sCMOS cameras.
