IEEE approves delay and power calculation system standard

Members of the Institute for Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) have approved the Delay and Power Calculation System (DPCS) as an IEEE standard. The DPCS includes the Delay Calculation Language and the DPC Application Procedural Interface, as well as the Parasitic Exchange Format and Physical Design Exchange Format. The DPCS helps designers build fast and accurate devices with the newest silicon processes, industry experts say. The Delay Calculation is a modeling language that describes circuit and interconnect delay and power characteristics of deep-submicron integrated circuit libraries.
