MMD Components in Santa Margarita, Calif., is introducing a series of military-grade temperature-compensated crystal oscillators (TCXOs) that have been tested and screened per MIL-PRF-55310 and MIL-STD-883 Class B standards. For radiation tolerance, the new TCXOs are rad-hardened to 20-kilorads total-dose radiation. Moreover, they can withstand swept sine vibration of 20 Gs, 10 Hz to 500 Hz, and mechanical shock of 500 Gs, half-sine pulse at 0.1 milliseconds, 3 axis. The units can maintain frequency stability over the military operating temperature range of -55 to 125 degrees Celsius using proprietary compensation and stabilization methods. Customers can specify sine wave, HCMOS, TTL, or PECL output; a frequency range of 1 MHz to 100 MHz; and an input of 3.3, 5, 12, and 15 volts. Custom frequencies and input voltages are also available. The TCXOs come in a variety of packages-14-pin DIL (dual in-line), 1 Ă— 1 inch, and 9 Ă— 14 millimeters-and custom packages can be specified.
