Xilinx offers mil-grade versions of new FPGAs

Officials of Xilinx Inc. of San Jose, Calif., are offering high-reliability military-grade versions of two members of their 3.3 volt 0.35-micron Xilinx XC4000XL family of field programmable gate arrays (FPGAs) - the XC4036XL and the XC4062XL - which come in quad flat pack and pin grid array hermetic packages. The XC4036XL has as many as 65,000 systems gates with 3,078 logic cells, while the XC4062XL has as many as 130,000 gates with 5,472 logic cells. These devices operate over the military temp
