ZF/IBM aims at rugged transportation applications
Engineers at ZF Microsystems in Palo Alto, Calif., are offering the AKT/386, a single-board computer designed for rugged, mobile, and embedded transportation applications. Developed together with IBM Argentina, ZF engineers designed the board around the SMX/386 OE Module, the single-device PC that ZF launched in 1996. The ATK/386 integrates the SMX/386 OEM, seven serial ports, two parallel ports, 2.2 megabytes of flash memory, and support for as much as 1.5 megabytes of additional external remov
