Omniview releases new design automation tool

Leaders of Omniview Inc. in San Mateo, Calif., are releasing a new system-level design reuse and synthesis tool called Omniview Galaxy. The tool is a design environment for board- and system-level synthesis, and integrates Omniview`s Fidelity synthesis engine, component design libraries, development tools for user-defined customized libraries, and an interface leading to other electronic design automation design environments. The first version of Galaxy supports the Mentor Graphics design environment. The Fidelity engine has a configuration system and constraint-based reasoning algorithms that enable designers to synthesize complex designs by using a library of components organized as a functional hierarchy.
