EXTON, Pa., 24 Oct. 2005. Innovative Solutions & Support, Inc. announced that the Boeing Company's Wichita Development and Modification Center has placed a $900,000 order for the company's Primary Flight Display System for use on the Royal Netherlands Air Force (RNLAF) Cockpit Upgrade Program.
The display system includes two 15-inch flat panel display units located on the pilot and copilot forward instrument panels and display generation capability in two data concentrator units and two control panels.
The Primary Flight Display System evolved out of a significant IR&D effort that has engendered a number of technological advances. The flat panel display line includes display sizes ranging from 8.4 to 20 inches. Applications include primary flight displays, engine displays, multifunction displays, and tactical displays. The system provides highly readable, large format (15-inch) flat panel displays, in flexible graphical formats, for upgrading air transport, military and business aviation aircraft.
Roman Ptakowski, president of ISSC, commented, "This selection by the Boeing Company for the RNLAF program provides another example of the growing use of IS&S display products for military, commercial air transport, and business aviation applications. The product's exceptional performance, light weight, low power and low cost make it ideal for retrofit upgrades."
