WASHINGTON, 31 Jan. 2008.Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace, a subsidiary of Kongsberg Gruppen ASA, has received an additional delivery order for more Protector Remote Weapon Stations (RWS) under the U.S. Army's Common Remotely Operated Weapons Station (CROWS) II program. The order is worth approximately $63.75 million.

Kongsberg signed a $1.35 billion agreement with the Army in August 2007 to supply as many 6,500 Protector Crows units through 2012.

The first delivery order under this agreement was also made in August for more than 1,300 weapon stations, spare parts, and support.

Work on the Protector Crows units will take place at the company's production facility in Johnstown, PA.

Built to meet mission-specific requirements for the Crows program, the Protector RWS increases troop safety by enabling operation of a vehicle's weapons from inside the vehicle. Cutting-edge precision and stability enhance troops' ability to engage and defeat the enemy.

Kongsberg has delivered more than 2,000 weapon systems to the U.S. military, including the Army's Stryker brigades.
