U.S. government orders American Science and Engineering Inc. ZBV screening systems

BILLERICA, Mass., 9 Oct. 2008. American Science and Engineering Inc. won a $4.4 million order from the U.S. government for multiple Z Backscatter Vans (ZBV), mobile x-ray screening systems. The contract includes ZBV operator training, service, and warranty.

BILLERICA, Mass., 9 Oct. 2008.American Science and Engineering Inc. won a $4.4 million order from the U.S. government for multiple Z Backscatter Vans (ZBV), mobile x-ray screening systems. The contract includes ZBV operator training, service, and warranty.

"This order follows the successful deployment of multiple ZBVs at border crossings in support of the U.S Government's counter-drug and anti-terrorism programs," says Anthony Fabiano, president and CEO. "We're working very closely with government officials to meet their detection and performance requirements utilizing our proprietary Z Backscatter technology for port and border security. The ZBV offers a comprehensive inspection solution to quickly and effectively detect border threats, such as drugs, weapons, contraband, and stowaways."
