Crane Aerospace & Electronics Microwave Solutions launches Ku-band Iso-Divider product line for space applications
CHANDLER, Ariz., 15 March 2014. Crane Aerospace & Electronics Microwave Solutions is launching its new Ku-band Iso-Divider product line designed for satellite applications.
The new unit combines the functions of high-performance power dividers with ferrite isolators to provide a high-isolation power divider solution, making the external isolators redundant, for satellite receiver applications, without introducing complex switch-based solutions. Integration of the two functions into a single package provides enhanced product reliability due to fewer external components, interconnects, and transitions.
Marrying the power divider and isolators in the same package allows the performance of the integrated unit to be matched and better overall performance to be obtained, officials say.
Company officials plan to offer Iso-Dividers and Iso-Combiners in various configurations (such as 4, 6, 8 ports), which will be developed and released as market demand dictates.
“The Iso-Divider product will provide our customers with a new integrated solution allowing better unit performance and smaller physical size and weight. The product brings together the expertise of our West Caldwell operation for passive product structures and the advanced design and manufacturing capability of ferrite devices from our Chandler facility,” explains Bob Ferrante, vice president, Microwave Solutions. “Crane Electronics Microwave Solutions is rapidly moving from a supplier of high-performance components to a high-value partner providing critical multifunction building blocks for advanced system architectures.”
